Carrollwood Day Sets School Scoring Record in 76-0 Win

Friday night was the clearest example yet.

Carrollwood Day rolled past Northside Christian 76-0, setting a school record for points in a game and improving to 3-0.

The Patriots scored 33 points in the first quarter and took a 55-0 lead into halftime. From there, it was just a matter of finishing it out.

The record-setting point total will get most of the attention, but the bigger picture is how much more settled Carrollwood Day is starting to look.

There was never much doubt about the talent on the roster. The question was how quickly everything would come together once the season started.

Through three games, that answer is becoming clearer.

The Patriots are getting more comfortable offensively, the defense just posted a shutout, and the team appears to be finding its rhythm before the schedule gets tougher.

That matters because the second half of the season will give Carrollwood Day a much better idea of where it really stands.

Next up is a trip to Steinbrenner, another 3-0 team that is coming off a 59-28 win over Wesley Chapel. After that, the Patriots still have games against Chamberlain, Zephyrhills Christian Academy, Trinity Christian Academy, Community School of Naples, St. Petersburg Catholic and Calvary Christian.

That is the stretch Carrollwood Day has been building toward.

Friday’s 76-0 win does not answer every question, but it was another step in the right direction for a team that expects to be playing meaningful football late in the season.

At 3-0, with a school scoring record now added to the start, Carrollwood Day looks like a team that is starting to put it all together.
